The Animation of
Joanna Priestley Special guest Joanna
Priestley opens the festival with a retrospective of her animated works
from the past two decades. One of the most recognizable names in the field
of independent animation, Ms. Priestley studied at the Rhode Island School
of Design and UC Berkeley where she graduated with honors. Since then
she has screened at the Museum of Modern Art, received three NEA fellowships,
and taught animation and media while turning out work at a tremendous
pace Ms. Priestley has produced and directed 14 films that have
awards world-wide! Animation fans may know The
Rubber Stamp Film (1983), Candyjam
(1988), and Grown Up (1993)
which have been featured in numerous festivals the JRFF last year
screened her most recent work Surface Dive.
This year were happy to have her participate in person so dont
