FLICKER's Attack of the 50 ft. Reels
8
p.m., Plant
Zero, 0 East 4th Street, Richmond
Plant Zero is located just south of the Mayo/14th Street Bridge. Admission $3
Here's how it works: the first 20 people to fill out the entry form and turn it in with a $25 entry fee get one roll of Super 8 film + processing and the opportunity to make a three-minute movie. The catch is you have to edit in-camera -- that is, you have to film in the order you want each scene to appear (unlike the way most movies are made). When you finish, return the film to Flicker and we'll send them all off for processing. To add a little intrigue, the first time the filmmakers get to see their films is the night of the September Flicker.
Note: Since many cameras don't expose the new Ektachrome color stock properly, we've decided to make this an all black and white 50-ft. Reels. Choose either:
Plus-X (7276 ASA 40 Tungston/50 Daylight) - better for outdoors or when there are no issues about ample lighting; or
Tri-X (7278 ASA 160 Tungston/200 Daylight) - better for lower light situations (you still have to have light though!).
Entry deadline: Friday, June 2 (or when the 20 slots are filled)
Participants will receive film by: Friday, June 30
Return exposed cartridges by: Friday, September 1 (or earlier)
50-Ft. Reels Show: Thursday, September 28
$25 entry fee
To enter, make checks payable to FLICKER, in memo write 50-ft. Reels and mail to:
