Movie Day is a worldwide celebration of amateur films
and filmmaking held annually on the second Saturday in August.
Home
Movie Day provides an opportunity for individuals and families
to learn more about their own family movies, how to care for
films, and how home movies have helped capture 20th century
history.
RMIC
invites YOU to rifle through your attics, dig through your
closets, call up Grandma, and search out your family's home
movies and bring an 8mm, Super 8, or 16mm home movie (sorry,
no video or slides) to Home Movie Day to see it projected.
Or just show up and watch the films of others.
If
you have a box of old films that you know nothing about, bring
'em between noon and 2 pm and we will take a look at them
and give you information and advice on how to take care of
them, recommend places for film to video transfers, etc.

NOTE:
We will inspect, clean and repair films on a first-come, first-served
basis and a limit of one film per person, depending on the
number of people who bring films.
